For the past few weeks, I have been relentlessly harassed and false copyright flagged by Universal Music Group whenever I do a Facebook livestream. These streams are educational videos record myself, in my studio of original music and are mostly drum recordings which I then show how to apply EQ and compression to, for example.
The stream is stopped, kicking off all the viewers and then I have to file a dispute to even get the video back, but the stream is ruined.
As a single example, you can check this video and see the matching content that they are laying claim to
Facebook has left me absolutely no way to contact support and plead my case for a whitelisting or some other solution. UMG has not responded to my emails, messages or phone calls.
On YouTube, AdRev, which turns out is also audiomicro.com has DMCA flagged me for a video which again, has none of their content and is all original content of mine. You can hear the “matching content” yourself
I have tried phone, email, filed a counter at YouTube and have found no way to truly contact any of the people responsible. I have sent more than enough messages in every way I could to AdRev, UMG and audiomicro, with no results
I cannot find any other recourse at this point other than to ask you to please go to their Facebook pages, and report them for intellectual property violation, as they ARE violating my intellectual property. Please, I ask you, realizing I could fully lose my Facebook over this, but rights only seem to exist in one direction, for the powerful against the weak, so I can’t find anything else to do

- Chose “Give feedback or report this page”
- Click “Intellectual Property” and then click “send”

Please consider doing whatever you can to fight for content creators’ rights! This is quite an irony for the guy who created the Stop DMCA Abuse page at facebook! I never though it would be me getting nailed, but here I am!
You need to show your intent to sue in order for YouTube to take actions; however, there will be threats levied by UMG to intimidate you.
Your content may have been used via CID fraud & then listed with AdRev. It is also possible UMG is involved unwittingly through a copyright violating content creator within their MCN.
This problem is growing massively each day & most people are powerless to stop it ‘permanently’.
There is an unwillingness to fight this by massive content creators & big YouTubers for fear of blacklisting.
There are some steps to tackle this,; however, in most cases the content is simply re-listed with a CID 3rd party company. If the culprits are outside the U.S. it becomes extremely hard to stop this non-sense permanently.
Many creators find themselves re-fighting the same CID fraud over and over again….this is why BIG YouTuber’s give up and make a different video altogether.
The problem with giving in is we as content creators are being painted into a corner….the unwillingness to take serious action is allowing this to grow out of hand and at a criminal/corporate level.

I just had videos on Instagram and Facebook with my original song and recording flagged and blocked by UMG on grounds that they own the copyright. I’m incensed. Best of luck as you fight this battle. Somehow I seem to have been whitelisted. EFF gave me some attaboys but was no real help as far as I can tell. A lot of the big youtubers were getting nailed and since my video was up kind of early a lot of them seemed to have taken notice and maybe I just got carried along with them…I dont know and I hate the feeling of powerlessness….I’m glad Im ok for now, but whats to stop it from happening again?
I have been getting false copyright claims from UMG on all my live videos and I have been reporting this issue for so long and no body is replying! They are destroying my page!!!! Please tell me if you found a solution..
I own Franklin auto spray painter, I always made video on each of my jobs,at first UMG claim my video on Instagram which I resolve it,the came again on my Facebook page,and claim two of my work video which I personally recorded it myself
Please if you know the right way to fight this,income me,it getting out of hand
