For those asking about the Grace M108 and the NEVE 1073OPX these were technically interfaces and I may cover them some other time, but I’ll say it again that I do not like what seems to be interfaces added as an afterthought. Who makes the drivers? Can you add more units and still live under ASIO?
Gain was very hard to nail down, claims are written in many different ways and reviewers, even at SOS seem to have different ways of stating the available gain. Doublecheck my numbers!
Some Wordclock out is also thru. Some are actually one jack which can switch between in out and thru. Not 100 % sure what the difference between out and thru is, though I suspect “out” means generating word clock and thru would mirror the wordclock input.
This is still a confusing subject. I own a Scarlett Octopre Dynamic, and am not sure if I need to use a terminator on the output of it as it is the last device in a chain.
I also own three Focusrite Octopre MKII’s which have only a wordclock in and no way to defeat the termination. Kudos to Focusrite for having both in and out with the newer models and I am assuming, no longer having the termination issues that can ;lead to so much trouble. On previous episodes of dropping in at pipelineaudio, I have lamented on just how difficult this can make a multi unit setup, in my case, having to buy 20 year old word clock distribution modules!
Audient ASP880 – Separate line input that seems to be after the mic pres available on DB25
Was looking at Grace 108, but to my surprise it actually had an ASIO driver. Will look at these another time.

Just for completeness: Midas DL16 ADAT outs (only)

Can you control that without an X32 based system?
