REAPER Institute for Higher Learning Coursebook I

Rock: From Tracking to Mixing

Welcome to the REAPER Institute for Higher Learning. After finishing this course you should have a fundamental understanding of recording, editing, and mixing using the tools and techniques commonly available to today’s audio engineer. Though this coursebook is REAPER specific, most, if not all of the concepts presented herein should be applicable to any situation using similar products.

This course will focus on a practical example of recording a rock song from start to finish. This situation of course will not cover everything, but will provide a solid fundamental of the techniques that need to be understood. Future courses will cover other situations, styles, instruments, and topics such as post, radio and mastering.
